Schizophrenia is a number of behaviours or symptoms that may not occur from case to case. Psychosis in the strictest sense means the presence of delusions and hallucinations: extreme reality distortions. Positive symptoms: obvious signs of psychosis, delusions are a belief that would be seen as a misrepresentation of reality. Delusions of persecution and delusions of grandeur are common. Possibly help people with schizophrenia avoid depression and have more purpose to their lives: hallucinations are the experience of sensory events without any input from the environment. Theories are that hallucinations are misinterpretations of inner speech, Negative symptoms and abnormal cortical activity: indicate the absence or insufficiency of normal behaviour. Avolition (apathy) is having little interest to perform basic daily functions. Alogia is the relative absence of speech likely to do deficient social skills. Anhedonia is lack of pleasure; indifference to activities that would normally bring pleasure to other people.
