They can"t be rehearsed enough so they don"t get transferred to ltm. They occurred too long ago to sill be acive in stm. Item at beginning are only afected by retroacive interference. Items at end are only afected by proacive interference. Item in the middle are afected by both retroacive and proacive interference.
