Document Summary
Main theme development of self-identity is often a stressful and difficult process & is becoming more so of it. Children grown up in isolation from other human beings tend to not develop normally: they remain uninterested in games, cannot form social intimate relations and develop only the most basic language skills. Some of these children suffer from congenitally low intelligence: could possibly be a result of abuse as well. To be actualized, socialization must unleash this potential: without proper socialization, a child will not develop the necessary human skills in order to thrive in a social society. Socialization is the process by which people learn their culture by: entering into & disengaging from succession of roles, becoming aware of themselves as they interact with others. Role = behaviour expected of a person occupying a particular position in society. The crystallization of self-identity: adolescence is a turbulent period of rapid self-development, many people can remember experiences from youth and crystallize self-identity.
