Tap water and bottled water are supposing to be equally clean, 40% of bottled water is from the municipal tap water. Many chose to hydrate with sport drinks, which contains many additives, sugars and calories. The energy required to transport water far exceeds the energy required to purify an equivalent amount of tap water: carbs.
