Snowshoe hare cycles: a case study: figure 13. 2 lynx canadenis feed on snowshoe hare. The studies explain that up to 95% are killed by the predator but could not explain what was deciling the birth rate. Tey know however that food alone is not the cause. Parasitoids: are insects that typically lay one or few eggs on or in another insect. After they hatch from their egg, the larvae lives in host, eat it and ususally kill. So they can be unsuall predator or parasite. Most predators have broad diets, whereas a majority of herbivores have relatively narorw diets.
