Short wave radiation from the sun pass through atmosphere to be absorbed by earth suface, then re-radiated back as long-wave radiation, this then gets absorbed by gaseous water molecules & traps in atmosphere. Imbalance btw incoming & outgoing radiation leads to warming of earth-atmosphere system. Prescence of water vapour allows planet to be warm enough to sustain life: transformation of diff states allow e to be transferred around the globe, ex. From equatorial regions to the poles: low viscosity ( ) makes efficient transport agent, come from water molecules not tightly bound together, separate upon force.
