The approach of a discipline can influence the way we understand a topic. Health studies is primarily concerned with the social study of health, we look at it through the lens of sociology, psychology, geography, & ethics. Sociology studies institutions and their practices, how they shape the experiences of individuals who reside in them. Psychology explores how people react to health and illness, they that the mind and body are interlinked. They come up with ways of developing new strategies or for the maintenance of health. Geographers focus on ways in which space and place affects peoples health, such as proximity to health care, and environmental factors. Ethics questions the morality of different health related issues. Researchers and students can understand best with moving across disciplines, because there is no single way of studying health studies. Multidisciplinarity refers to the process of where people with different disciplines with parallel alongside each other and come up with their own conclusions.
