Media literacy = refers to any learning opportunity that increases an individual"s function and how those modes of operation have bearing on one"s daily life understanding of how the mass media function. To be media literate is to possess the dual understandings of how the mass media (1) is an emphasis on media production as a way of learning about how mass. Two major themes: media generate and circulate messages (2) an understanding of the symbolic codes, logics, and powers present. Culture jamming = the use of familiar media symbols and channels to reveal and overturn the consumerist or capitalist ideologies that they embody. Media reform = refers to any efforts by citizens interest groups to effect change in the structure and operation of mass media industries.
