Manufacturing problems include the use of substandard material (which causes parts to break), faulty electrical circuits, and the use of lead pain that is not approved. Manufacturing defects occur because of errors or negligence, and manufacturers can prevent defects with proper attention to quality control. 10% of the recalled toys were the result of a manufacturing flaw (excess lead in the surface paint)
