Canada"s market-based system allows anyone to start a business. Most of canada"s businesses are small and simple. Approximately 90% of all canadian businesses employ fewer than 10 people. 80% of working canadians, are employed in the private sector. Small businesses less than 100 employees created 80% of all the new jobs. An expression used to indicate that individuals have the freedom to start and run businesses without bureaucracy and over regulaion. The part of the economy that is run by private individuals, usually with the aim of proit making. There is no oicial deiniion for small business. Industry canada tends to call a business small if it has fewer than 100 people and the canada business financing act deines a small business as a business with less than million in revenue. A commonly used term for small and medium-sized enterprises, meaning any business with fewer than 500 employers.
