People believes that psychologists are professionals who conducts therapy or people in white lab coats watching rats run through mazes. The field of psychology is also viewed through the lens of pop psychology (through media) the scores of self. Psychology as the scientific study of behaviour, thought, and experience, and how they can be affected by physical, mental, social, and environmental factors. Psychologists share with other sciences a combination set of methods and perspectives for understanding the world. The scientific method scientists use theories to generate hypothesis. Once tested, hypothesis are either confirmed or rejected. Confirmed hypotheses lead to new ones and strengthen theories. Rejected hypotheses are revised and tested again, and can potentially after an existing theory.
