Abraham maslow wanted to understand people who lived up to their full potential, self-actualized : his work started work on trying to find what makes humans thrive and develop full potential. Personality trait: a person"s habitual patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving: trait descriptors useful as short-cuts to understanding people. Gordon allport (1930s) created a list of 18 000 english words that could be used to describe an individual"s physical & psychological attributes.
