Psych research-chapter 1: psychology is a way of thinking: research producers and research consumers. Some students are interested in analyzing data, observing behaviour, etc. Other students don"t necessarily want to do research, but enjoy reading about thing such as the anatomy of the brain or psychological concepts. Students who go to graduate school will need to know about research methods. Even students that do not go to graduate school in psychology will still need to know how to write in apa format, assign people to groups, interpret graphs, etc. We can essentially learn how psychological scientists ask questions and think about their discipline. You may end up working as a lab assistant at your school. Many professors do research and look for students to do things, such as graphing lab results, etc. Most psychology students will not become researchers, but reading about information is just as important as doing the research itself.
