Most contemporary criminologists would agree that genetics and biological factors may play some role in criminality, but the social environment is the most important determinant of criminal behavior. According to adrian raine whom is a prominent biopsychologist; (1) determining how much of antisocial behavior is influenced by genes and (2) deciding which specific genes predispose a person to which kinds of antisocial behavior. Biopsychologists: psychologists who study the biological aspects of behavior to determine which genetic and neurophysiological variables play a part. They generally see human behavior as the result of a complex interaction bet(cid:449)ee(cid:374) the i(cid:374)di(cid:448)idual"s physiologi(cid:272)al a(cid:374)d so(cid:272)ial e(cid:374)(cid:448)i(cid:396)o(cid:374)(cid:373)e(cid:374)t. Behaviour genetics: investigates the role genes play in the formation and development of behavior. It is the branch of biology that investigates the relationship between genes and the environment in determining individual differences in behavior. Molecular genetics: field of biology that studies the structure and function of genes at the level of molecules.
