Telegraphic signal: samuel morse sent first in 1844, no more physical transportation needed in communication. Electronic media: 20th century creatures, first tv broadcast 1920s, internet 1991. Causes of media growth: religious - reading, political t. v, economical, the protestant reformation. 16 century, catholic relied on priests to tell them what was in the bible. 1517, martin luther king wanted the people to have a personal relationship with the bible.
