Document Summary
February 4th, 2015: challenged white feminists to address differences against women, cannot look at social statuses alone, nor can it be added up against each other result of multiple systems of domination, matrix of domination (cid:224) social locations that are oppressive because they are the, gender, racial categories, ethnicity and social class comprise complex, gender is intertwined with social statuses that either have advantages or hierarchical stratification systems in the us. Local economic conditions also: must look into not only the woman"s point of view but social class and, outsiders within (cid:224) those with entry into higher education, arts, politics from, african american extended family system seen as deviant from norm, healthcare pressures: disadvantaged groups, prestigious jobs vs. living in the ghetto, culture of thinness (nb: for hispanic women, they face this pressure for different reasons traumas of social pressures such as sexual abuse, poverty etc. , patricia hill collins black feminism, knowledge and power .
