Uluburun shipwreck by oxford handbook of the bronze age aegean largest and richest groups of trade goods and raw materials found. Shows insight in the late bronze age maritime and terrestrial trade. The site visited by archaeologists first time in 1982. The pottery suggested the ship sank in the late 14th c bc. The cargo"s weight made the ship collapse and deteriorized; needed computer modeling to accurately reconstruct the ship and original placement of the cargo. The ship"s cargo can"t tell how much was in there though it had the capacity of 20 tons and heading for aegean cargo = elite since it held a lot of raw materials. Turned up a lot of metal ingots. Lots of pure copper. (carefully stowed); tin ingots cut into sections --- not obtained directly from the source. Materials on board: ingots (copper, tin); glass ingots, pollen, elephant ivory, hippopotamus ivory (more of this), african blackwood.
