Steps involve in the process of critical thinking. Step 1: adopt the attitude of a critical thinker. To investigate in viewpoints different from our own. Restrain one"s desire to believe because of social pressures to conform. Do necessary studying to reach a sufficient level of understanding before making judgments. Step 2: recognize & avoid critical thinking hindrances. Deductive argument: if one thing follows necessarily from another. Inductive argument: proof to a degree of probability or certainty. When doing critical appraisal, evaluate the credibility, accuracy and look for potential biases. Statistical information may not necessarily a good source to support argument (were the samples taken representative of the entire target population?)
