Document Summary

Intelligent people are frequently described as quick, but a growing body of research suggests that intelligence has less to do with the brain"s processing speed and more to do with executive control of working memory. Better working memory possibly better sta verbal scores. Absence of cognitive control. dysexecutive syndrome: a disrupted ability to think and plan. They still have sill memory and have ltm. The primate prefrontal cortex can be divided into three main regions: the orbital prefrontal cortex, the medial prefrontal cortex, and the lateral prefrontal cortex. The lateral prefrontal cortex can be further subdivided into two components: the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlpfc) on the top and the ventrolateral prefrontal cortex (vlpfc). The researchers found that some prefrontal-cortex neurons fired only during a delay period and only when the animals were required to maintain information about a spatial location of a particular object.
