Pain relievers decrease feelings of hurt as well as pain: anxious individuals are even more sensitive to changes to dislike. Avoidant personalities experience less pain when withdrawal occurs. Ostracism: ostracism refers to giving someone the cold shoulder and having those around you ignoring them. Silent treatment: most people believe ostracism damages relationships, when people feel excluded, they often feel the room is colder. If the ostracized individual wants to belong, they will do what their partners want. Jealousy results from the potential loss of a valued relationship to a rival. 3 main feelings define jealousy: hurt, anger, and fear. Hurt comes from the perception that our partners don"t value us enough to honour their commitments to our relationships.
