Multicellular organisms: ex: plants & animals, activities of life are divided among different specialized cells, each individual cell is potentially capable off surviving on its own, if placed in a suitable chemical medium. Life does not exist in any simpler form than cells- if we cut a cell open, it loses all its functions. Cells are small & cn only be seen using a microscope. Life is in 3 domains: bacteria, archaea, eukarya.
