Community building is not a process but an orientation to community that is strength based rather than need based and stresses the identification, nurturing, and celebration of community assets. Community advocacy is a process in which the people of the community become involved in the institutions and decisions that will have an impact on their lives. Has the potential for creating more support, keeping people informed , influencing decisions, activating non-participants, improving service and making, plans, people and programs more responsive. Can have big impact on social change issues.
