Constructs must be aligned meaningfully prior to calculating the mean rating or city block distance. Personal constructs are organized hierarchically - with some being at a more general level in comparison to others. Connotation a particularly general level of meaning. A connotative meaning contains evaluation, activity, and potency. Evaluation composed of constructs such as good versus bad. Potency includes constructs such as strong versus weak. Activity consists of constructs such as active versus inactive.
