Motivational problems: motivational problems are common because individual and organizational objectives do not naturally coincide. Personal limitations: may be caused by a lack of aptitude, training, experience, stamina, or knowledge for the task at hand, example: employees are promoted above their level of competence. Characteristics of good management control: good control mean that management can be reasonably confident that no major unpleasant surprises will occur. It must be future oriented b/c the goal is to have no unpleasant surprises in the future.
