Political science divided in 5 major subfields: political theory, comparative politics, international politics, canadian (national and domestic) politics, public policy, public administration. Systems analysis: is an approach devised to make political science more scientific and more theoretical consisted of viewing politics as a system: focused on political actors rather than institutions, it provided a theoretical model of politics, that is, a simplified representation of political life that specified its logic and detailed itw workings, this model was said to be general, other words systems analysis was presented as being valid for understanding politics in virtually any country at almost any time. There are at least three kinds of coalitions: in a small scale setting, coalitions are based on personal relationships among individuals, coalitions can also be formed alliances, less formally, the building of coalitions is a characteristic of the mass politics of modern democracies.
