Political Science 1020E Chapter Notes - Chapter 1-20: Jeremy Bentham, Herbert Marcuse, Harm Principle
Document Summary
Tutorials are small group meetings in which students discuss assigned topics in detail with the help of a tutorial assistant (ta). The first term tutorials address the question of free speech (tutorials 1-3) and a range of public policy questions from animal experimentation and drug policy to health, safety, crime, and gambling (tutorials 5-11). One tutorial is devoted to preparing you to write the essay (tutorial 4). The tutorials make up 10% of your mark for politics 1020e. Each term, you will be given a grade for that term (i. e. , for 5% of your final course mark). Here is how your ta will determine your grade: Just to be crystal clear: regular tutorial attendance is a requirement for achieving a passing grade for the tutorial. We expect that, given class size constraints, all students will contribute to every class, or at least will not fail to contribute to two classes in a row.
