The demyelinated neuron can no longer transmit acion potenials eiciently. * psychologists have viewed stress in three diferent ways: as a simulus, a response, and an organism-environment interacion. Stressors: situaions that place demands on organisms that tax or exceed their resources. Stress: a patern of cogniive appraisals, physiological responses, and behavioural tendencies that occurs in response to a perceived imbalance between situaional demands and the resources available to cope with them. Life event scales: quesionnaires that measure the number (and, someimes, the intensity) of posiive and negaive life events that have occurred over a speciic period of ime.
