Good health is achievable through health habits that are practised conscientiously. Health promotion: being aware of health habits that pose risk for future disease and of already existing risks: modification of health habits before development of illness. Interventions that have been used to effect change for people at risk. Public health perspective- important to address health behaviour change at individual, community, national levels through appropriate education and interventions. Health promotion: general philosophy core: idea that good health, wellness is a personal and collective achievement. Who definition of health promotion: process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health. Epp report- need to view health from a health promotion perspective.
