Group: a collection of three or more people who interact with one another and are interdependent, in the sense that their needs and goals cause them to rely on one another. Motivate people to become involved in social change. Those who identify strongly with a group are more likely to take part in social action. Similarity: people are attracts to groups of similar others and groups tend to establish ground rules, making members more similar. Social roles: shared expectations by group members about how particular people in the group are supposed to behave. When followed tend to be satis ed and perform well. Can cause you to loose personal identity and personality because of over involvement. Social norms: implicit or explicit rules that specify how the group members should behave. Group cohesiveness: qualities of a group that bind members together and promote liking among them.
