Psychology 2075 Chapter Notes - Chapter 16: Methoxy Group, Married People, Social Inequality
Document Summary
Psych 2075 chapter 16 notes on sexual coercion. Sunday, april 15, 2018 this chapter looks at sexual assault, child sexual abuse and sexual harassment at work, in education and by professionals. In past two decades there has been movement in seeing crimes involving force in sexual relations as crimes of violence and victimization rather than as sex crimes. In 1983 the criminal code of canada was amended to include this and protect victims. Before this, the criminal code had four sections that prohibited forced sexual activity: The legal de nition of rape in the law was heterosexual intercourse by a man with a woman who was not his wife. Wives could also not be raped technically and past activities as evidence against her. It also needed corroboration that the crime of rape actually took place. The judge had to tell jury not to convict based on complainant"s testimony. Also rape allegations that were not made directly after attack were invalidated.
