Most of the data available on sexual behaviour comes from surveys in which adults are questioned about their pasts: these types of data may therefore be subject to biases. An alternative would be to interview children about their sexual behaviour to get real in time responses or to even observe: kinsey: interviewed 432 children ages 4-14. A recent innovation is the use of a computer voice to interview the children. In one study, this procedure was used to gather data from samples of high risk youth: more children reported sexual experience to the computer than in face-to-face interviews. Many studies of adolescent sexual behaviour and attitudes have also been done: the canadian youth, sexual, health and hiv/aids study, a series of surveys by bibby also provide some information about adolescent sexuality in canada. Most are interviews or surveys but almost no observations.
