Self-help groups groups that do not have a professional facilitator &may be either leaderless, have a rotating leader, or designate a leader from w/in the group o. Educational groups primary focus on education, but might also have a support aspect o. Support/therapeutic groups primary purpose is supporting people dealing with specific problems: task groups the primary focus is to accomplish a specific mandate o. Social action groups focus on broader social issues, though they may well have a personal dimensions to them. Parenting with kindness and firmness is an educational group for parents. Parents are invited to look at their own childhood experience of being parented.
