Power: an ability to influence people and achieve goals, even in the face of opposition from others. Example: a large organization has power if it can influence how people think about and play sports and if it can use sports to achieve its goals. Authority: is a form of power that comes with a recognized and legitimate status or office in a government, an organization or an established set of relationships.
