2009: 63% of women 15 and older were in paid labour force: biggest increase in women aged 25-54 (now 82% paricipaion) Labour force paricipaion of men aged 15 and older has been declining slowly. 2/3 of mothers with kids aged 3-5 in the labor force: 64. 4% with kids under 3 were too. Proporion of dual income families increased and now remains steady: the income of these families has increase more than any other family type. Four life paths of women: homemaking, stable marriage, neither pushed into workplace by economic need or pulled into it by enicing opportuniies, planned tradiional marriage but end up in workforce a. Inluenced by unstable relaionships, economic problems and job opportuniies: want and career, reluctant about homemaking, want a career but circumstances wont let them. Just made housework diferent, rather than less: things are easier but the quanity has increased, standards of cleanliness has increased.
