Another key concept in retributive sentencing is proportionality the sentence handed down should be proportionate to the gravity of the offence and to the convicted perso(cid:374)(cid:859)s degree of respo(cid:374)si(cid:271)ility. Most commonly used restorative approaches are victim-offender reconciliation, circle sentencing, and family group conferencing. It involves the offender, family, and victim to resolve the problems which the offender has caused.
