There are individual di erences, each person is unique. Disposition: broad, pervasive, encompassing ways of relating to particular types of people or situation. Cheerful disposition is upbeat no matter the environment. This in sport is applied to behaviour, thoughts, emotions stability, competitiveness, optimism and motivational orientation. Trait: relatively stable characteristic or quality that may represent a portion of one"s personality; a quality used to explain an individual"s behaviour across time and situation. Perfectionism is an example with expressions that are included. Psychological states: momentary feelings and thoughts that change depending on the situation and time. A common asssuption is that traits have a normal distribution throughout population. Personality is composed of several di erent traits combining to in uence speci c behaviours.
