Document Summary

One important aspect of this theory is self-efficacy. As self-efficacy increases so does desirable behaviour. Goal is to improve individual perceptions of ability. Barrier self-efficacy is confidence in one"s ability to overcome barriers that may arise. In positive behaviours self efficacy rises and the cycle continues when participating in exercise. Scheduling self-efficiency is confidence in one"s ability to plan and organize exercise in one"s life. Task self-efficiency is confidence in one"s ability to complete the exercise task. Exercise self-efficacy is confidence in one"s ability to engage in physical avcitivey. Researchers have combines multiple forms of behaviour into one general term called self-regulatory eggicicey for exercise. This suggests that self-efficacy involves personal control over the task, scheduling regular activity, and planning for and overcoming barriers. Another way of increasing self-efficacy is through the aid of a physical activity counsellor. A physical activity counsellor is someone who has skills to assist patients in ,making sustainable physical activity changes.
