Apparent simplicity seemed more honest and authentic to the american experience than most pop music. Nashville and bakersfield, cali became destinations for many rock musicians to connect with country side of music business. Byrds were among first rockers to record in nashville in the new country rock style. Stylistically had country sound, john fogerty sang like r&b vocalist, and they came from home of psychedelia. Hippie component evident in willy and the poor boys. By early 70s, la, woodstock, and sanfran became centres for country rock in us. Eagles were leading band working in this style. Take it easy is good example of groups country rock approach. Surveying first half of 70s, its clear aspects of psychedelia became the impetus for the formation of new styles. Country rock: focused on integration of country into rock. Progressive rock: refined the use of classical music.
