Men score higher on traits that reflect individuality and autonomy. Women score higher on traits that emphasize social connectedness and empathy. Aggression higher in males, more open to casual sex. Explains differences in socio-cultural terms since personality develops in a social context. Girls and boys develop differences because of division of labour between sexes, resulting in gender role expectations. Males and females develop personality attributes best suited for the roles they typically occupy.
