After several encounters - dogs salivated to plain black water: orosensory stimuli: distinctive texture and taste sensations in mouth, sand placed in dog"s mouth several times - after - sight of sand (visual features) elicited salivation. Used unconditioned alarm noise to condition fear to white rat. Albert showed fear responses; cried in presence of rat or generalized to other furry things - rabbit, fur coat, cotton wool, dog, etc: much research on fear conditioning conducted with laboratory rats and mice.
