Biological determinism: the belief much of behaviour reflects in-built biological traits such as the need to reproduce, the need to survive, and so on. Influenced by the then-emerging field of modern biology and its new theory of evolution. Aspects of human biology: instincts and biological differences are the root cause of human actions.
