Sociology (4): systematic study of human behavior in social context. The sociological perspective: e v i t c e p s r e. No relation between psycholigcal disorder and suicide rates. Found no relation between psychological disorder and suicide rates. Looked at places with high psychological disorders and seen there were low rates of suicide. Social solidarity (6): the degree to which group members share beliefs and values and the intensity and frequency of their interaction: more people shared beliefs the more social solidarity existed. Values (6): ideas about what is good or bad, right or wrong. Theory (6): a tentative explanation of some a aspect of social life that states how and why certain facts are related: suicide rates decline social solidarity increases. Altruistic suicide (6): occurs i settings that exhibit very high levels of social solidarity according to durkheim. In other words altruistic suicide results from norms very tightly governing behavior: high solidarity settings.
