Particles of diff sizes are separated by passing crude powder through multiple sieves of different sizes stacked onto each other. Bigger/coarse sieves on top & finer sieves on bottom. As number of opening increases, sieve becomes more fine: past two 1 sieve & then through another- this powder called power of mesh size x or no. x powder. So, finesses limits is the amount that pass through both sieves. The remaining is left onto the second sieve. All the particles that fell through no. 60 (40% of mass), also fell through no. 20.
