The misunderstood idea that the americas have no history before the arrival of the. Societies combine elements of both medias, but privilege one over the other. Europeans in the 1400s used space-biased media in the form of writing; effective in passing instructions across long supply lines; holy bible. Indigenous peoples did have a media time-biased media (disadvantage) that had a written record, which the europeans chose to ignore and attempted to destroy where it challenged their own media; oral culture disregarded and disrespected by europeans. The misperception (from europeans) that aboriginal societies were primitive, usually migratory, and unlikely to have been in the americas for long before 15th century this was advantageous for europeans because it justified taking native ppl from their lands.
