Chapter seven of staying alive, introduces the concepts of gender and race in relation to health seen through a gender lens. Essentially what that means is examining health issues with an importance on gender. Sex and gender affect health care needs and influences. I did know that both genders had their own specific conditions. Men and women both have separate problems that their gender only has, for example menopause in women, and prostate cancer in men. I first thought breast cancer was only in women, but men are susceptible to being diagnosed with breast cancer, however it is very rare. Unfortunately for women, currently there is no way to have gender equality when it comes to health. If a man and women have the same exact amount of alcoholic drinks, the woman will have a higher bac.
