Understand what ti ments to live their daily lives in accordance with torah. They practiced alms-giving prayer, fasting, believed in resurreaction & future day of judgement. Entire tanakh was sacred & worth of study. Provided answers & interpretations to things that were confusing. Established rules & intructions to helps jews observe the law.
