Handsome, gregarious and worldly one-time law student is said to be responsible for 40 murders between 1964-1978. his victims were typically young women, usually murdered with a blunt instrument or by strangulation and sexually assaulted before and after death. As the police investigated the several murders, they noted one victim who had been beaten over the head with a log, raped and strangled, also had bite marks one her left buttock and breast. A forensic odontologist matched his bite mark on the victim(cid:495)s butt to bundy(cid:495)s front teeth and bundy was ultimately executed in 1989. Forensic science is the application of science to law. Forensic science is an umbrella term encompassing a myriad of professions that use their skills to help law enforcement officials conduct their investigations. One of the earliest records of applying forensics to solve a criminal case comes from third world china.
