Comets rise and set with earth"s rotation. Most comets don"t have tails and stay in the outer regions of the solar system far past neptune in the oort cloud and kuiper belt. A dwarf planet must be round/spherical in shape. Meteorite- a rock from space that lands on earth. Most asteroids are not round because their gravity is too low to shape them. Primitive- formed at the same time as the solar system(4. 6bill). Can be carbon rich(outer asteroid belt) or stony(inner asteroid belt). Processed- were once part of a larger object that processed original material into another form. Rocky if chipped from the surface or metallic if blasted from the core. Asteroids that formed beyond the frost line carried significant amounts of water, possible that they brought water to the terrestrial planets.
