Document Summary

Concepts a mental grouping of similar objects, events, ideas, or people. When we think of chair- many different types can come into mind because they can all fit into a subgroup. Concepts allow us to communicate ideas with little cognitive effort. Prototype a mental image or best example of a category. This is like putting an image to a concept when you think of bird you will associate a jay rather than a penguin because a jay best resembles the prototype of a bird. Algorithm a step by step method to problem solving. Can take a lot of time and may not always be the best way to solve a problem. Ex: solving a jumbled word by going through all the possible combinations would not be the best method. Heuristic a simple thinking strategy to solving problems. Logically thinking which letters do and do not fit together to solve the word. Insight a sudden realization of a problems solution.
