Document Summary

Social psychology- a science that studies the influence of our situations with special attention to how we view and affect one another. Our behaviour varies in different situations but also depends on how we interpret it. Ex: if you get into a sudden argument with your friend you could either blame them for being hostile or think that they may have an issue that is bothering them/rough day. How individuals view and affect one another. Kurt lewin - one of the founders of social psyc, boiled it down to - behaviour is a function of the person and the situation . Intuition can be faulty - misperceive something, not believe in ourselves, misinterpret our own feelings etc. Social relations: social behaviour is biologically rooted - nature selects genes that helps survival and in the past working together increased survival. Social neuroscience - brain areas that are associated with love, hate, fear, hostility, etc.
